Hi,

I'm wondering what sex these Armadillo lizards are. Any idea?

I have never liked sexing Ouroboros based on femoral pores, because both sexes have femoral pores, it is just the size that is different.

I have never kept them, but from what I have observed in the field, the width of the head is also very accurate and easier to see.

Please post a picture from above of you holding the lizards on one hand and the heads next to each other.

Hi, here is the pic. The left animal is the one on picture 2 and 3 of the first ones. It's a few centimeters smaller than the other one.

Well looking at the width of the heads, I would say that the one on the left is male (almost 100% sure) and the one on the right is probably a female, but my confidence is less.

Here is a nice article regarding the captive care of these lizards:

Thanks, that was my guess, too. :) I'm 100% sure the first one is a male. Wasn't sure about the smaller one.

Do you know if females nod their heads, too?

The article seems interesting, I'll read it in the evening. Thanks!
