I alternate between superworms, mealworms and crickets.

Nice set-up man and some nice inhabitants to boot!

It's very easy to see when an animal is comfortable in the enclosure and when they're not; I can see your Basilisks are super happy.

I need to get some updated pics of my 2 Basilisks... one of them so grown quite a bit and the other is smaller and quite skittish.
I also don't have a clue what their sexes are? I'm hoping if i put some pics up there's some gurus here that can help me.

Well the last 2 nights I took a chance and slide the front open... and slowly moved my hand towards Heyzeus (the bigger one that I think is a male)... and so my surprise it was pretty chilled. I'm stoked, I actually got to tickle/scratch his neck and under his chin
I'll try get a pic or video clip of that as well.

But the smaller one that I think is a female is not so keen.

I don’t know how this chap does it… sleeps on a thin peace of wire he pulled off the top of his tank, not holding on with his claws either… a balancing act of note!

Quite the balancing act! And he seems more than comfortable up there.

How do you feel about the new invasive species list including this species? If it's accepted, you will be required to have permits to keep these

I have two of them, and sometimes the smaller one lies on top this one on that same little piece of wire.
I don’t know how the hell they do it.

Oh goodness, I need to have a look at this potential new invasive species list... I'd probably need a few permits

I don't think any of my exotics would last a day with the wildlife in my area... but hey... who are we

I have 8 basilisks and 8 Chinese water dragons of which all love to sleep on thin electrical cords. Im not very comfortable about this yet they seem to love hammocks...

I really hope the invasive list does not get passed. Once you have hatched a certain specie, you tend to love them more then before so these guys are not going anywhere soon...

On the subject of basilisks...
Most reptiles can interbreed as that's how new morphs are made but can basilisks also interbreed.
I kept back 4 females and 2 males from my previous clutch of eggs which I would love to breed but not sure if interbreeding would be the best idea.
I would like to build up my collection with different bloodlines but will it be safe to interbreed once with them?

With interbreed I think you mean inbreed. That is when you put a father to daughter or siblings together. Obviously this can be done with these animals as well. I dont know how many generations you can do this before you see problems. In some species it will never happen and in others it could crop up fairly easily.

I always though that inbreeding is a issue with mammals but anything that lays eggs should be fine, however I know there will be a few species that differ from this rule so got me thinking...

Do you guys know how to sex plumed basilisks?

I have 2 of them, the one in my last picture is quite a lot bigger than the other… and I thought could be a male.
But they’re almost a year old and I don’t see any signs of a crest of on the head or sail on the back.
I don’t know if they’re too young to show those traits plus living in captivity? Or am I sitting with 2 females?

Any tips, tricks or advice will appreciated.

The first one seems a bit to small still, but the one hanging on the light cord is a female.
Mine started showing the crests around 8-9 months old.
