Howzit,
With the my Jungle Carpets you really have to mind your fingers as the feeding is an extremely enthusiastic exercise normally! Also they constrict the prey item so hard that I've had a few frozen thawed Rat pups sort of burst
Yes I've got the male a +- 6 month old JCP (50g) in the 11L tub rack, I estimate he will be in the tub for about another 12 months or so or until he's about 170g. I've also got a female yearling (232g) who is bigger. She is in +- a L 900mm x W 450mm x H530mm cage. This size cage has a lot of head room for climbing up on her perch and I think will probably be enough for her as an adult. They don't get thick and huge as adults and stay rather slender, I think the adults look smallish all coiled up and it's only when you pick them up do you see the size. Pretty much the perfect safe size python if you ask me and not a danger to handle at all.
I've sort of followed Mittons guidelines from his website.
http://www.moreliapythons.co.za/carpetp ... esheet.php My cage setup is simply a couple of L 900mm x W 450mm x H530mm cages and L 1200mm x W 450mm x H530mm cages all stacked nicely. I purchased them all from the same place (The guy on the stage at the Randburg Expo). Then I also built a rack to fit perfectly in some spare space. Check out this post for some pictures ->
