Very pretty Copperhead [Possible Pied]

I thought I'd share this pretty (different) Copperhead with you guys. The trait hasn't been proven yet but none the less it remains a very pretty snake.

Finally an official post

The picture has been floating around for months, but great to see the real deal so to speak.

Congrats and I do hope you prove the trait out!

From my point of view, it does not look like an incubation/gestation related anomaly. Fingers crossed. Only time will tell.

Very interesting. Could this " different" Copper head be Piedbald? The white patch looks transparent like a leucistic. Did you produce this snake Louis?

Nope this snake popped up in a clutch of babies in Pretoria. The owner did not want them and offered them to me. I do not have space so I asked him to help and Louis went and fetched this snake, the siblings and the parents. Talk about getting a whole breeding project.

This specimen looked weak in the beginning but soon picked up and is now the strongest of the clutch. Who knows what the future holds? I know there has been quite a bit of interest from the US about this animal.

Or was he looking to sell them for a quick buck without testing the genetics?

Louis, are the rest of the siblings "normal" or do they have slight pattern or colour aberrations?

Different strokes for different folks. He did not make a quick buck I can promise you. He sold them very cheaply even for normals.

None of the others show any signs of being different. That makes me think it is genetic. If they have a variety of grades of piebald then I would be worried. The only problem is that the piebald retics, burmese and ball pythons all have pattern mutations as well which this one does not have.

Lets just wait and see. We have nothing to lose.

Yes, that is permanent, Google "piebald python" and have a look at the pics, that is what is meant by [Possible Pied].
