Regurgitate or Vommit

Regurgitate or Vommit

Postby Jaredr » Tue Jul 15, 2014 11:52 am

Good Morning

So as I was told when purchasing my pair of white lips, they can be difficult feeders especially when young.

I fed my little male around 2 weeks ago. When opening his tub last night, I came across a black pinkie that was slightly digested. My first thought is that his tub isn't warm enough with the 9W Heat Pad on it, hence him not digesting his meal. I was however guilty of trying to feed him after this meal before inspecting for faeces. He was aggressive in a defensive way with no form of feeding response.

I have put a 14W Head Pad on as well as a lamp hoping that it'll create a hot spot for him...

Does anyone have suggestions please.

Thanx

For arboreals you want to boost the ambient temperature, but also you don't want to dry the cage out too much. How big is the enclosure?

It is about a 3 litre arboreal tub. Well with there being live plants in the tub, I have quite a bit of water which assists in the tub not drying out. My concern is that I do not change the water enough hey. The ambient temp is what I increased this morning by providing a lamp and a bigger heating pad.

Well feed again after this heat boost and see how it goes, just give the little guy a breather for a few days.

Also once a snake has regurgitated it is good to leave them for about 10 days before feeding again.
