Snakes found in the Little Karoo.

My dad caught this girl yesterday at a B&B not to far from our place.


Boomslang - Dispholidus typus

After removing the majority of the ticks with this beast in a tube, we had no choice but to restrain her to remove the ticks from her head and neck.

I have never caught a snake with ticks on it. Leguaans yes.

We find them mainly on puffies and boomslang, have never seen them on cobras. Mole snakes usually have ticks as well.

So in between now and the previous post, we caught two boomslang and one Brown house snake which I never got around to photographing.

First up is this little Neonate Puffie I'm holding with my Bite resistant Hexamor gloves.

Secondly this nicely orange speckled Cape cobra, this is the most chilled
cobra I have seen in ages.
