Postby testudosardinia » Sun Dec 21, 2014 4:51 pm

Hello, I live in Sardinia (Italy) and I breed tortoises legally held, have the cites European source C (commercial source) and microchip.
I can sell them worldwide through export permit.
I breed sardinian Testudo Marginata, sardinian Testudo Hermanni Hermanni and sardinian Testudo graeca (I am only breeder in the world of sardinian Testudo graeca graeca).

Because nature conservation doesn't allow us to do so.
The reason behind it is probably that they are worried about them becoming invasive or spreading diseases to our local tortoise populations.
I have been told that there is some kind of a herpes virus, that is quite common in captive hermanni tortoise populations.
