What Are These

Postby rolandslf » Thu Feb 19, 2015 8:53 am

Good day All.

What are these little animals - Ferrets, Weasels, Skunks.
Are they even South African.

My daughter sent me the pic, and apparently these were found and caught in Richmond, KZN.

The people who sent the picks to my daughter asked if I would want to keep them. I think it is illegal to keep them so I have suggested releasing them.
I don't know how old they are.

Very cute little critters.

Wonder if the purposely look like skunks.

They dont only look like skunks, they smell like them too once they let go of those anal glands! Just be super careful of any 'tame' wildlife...Rabies remains a huge risk, especially in the EC, KZN, Limpopo and Mpumalanga

Had one of these in my roof last year. Was also worried about rabies, because it acted particularly tame. And yes, quite a awful smell.

They have apparently been sent to some Wildlife rehab center which will raise them and then release them.
