Wiring for a rack

Wiring for a rack

Postby gekosin » Wed Apr 29, 2015 7:27 am

Morning all,

I was just hoping for some confirmation, I just finished building a rack, learnt a hell of alot in the process. All that is left to do is wire up the heat wire to a thermostat.

I had to use 2 pieces of heat wire so i would just like to know, do I just loop these together to make 1 verrrrry long piece or do i wire them separately?

Thanks in advance :)

there's a temperature drop if you wire them in series parallel is far better.

example.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Ryuu for the above info, have wired up the rack and everything seems to be working.

Where is the best place to put the probe? I currently have it strapped to the heat cable protruding out the back of the rack. Would this be ok or it it better to keep it in the rack somewhere?

that's up to you and your environment.

Play around with the thermostat. to get the temps right in the tubs. It will be quite a bit of tweaking.

Yeah, already noticed that I will need to pump up the temps slightly to get the correct temp inside the tubs, once again thanks for the reply :)
