I second that! They are just magnificent and I’m very happy to see that they are actually in the country. I hope you breed them soon.

That's just nuts!

One of the few species where you actually want the tipping on the scales, haha.

Looks quite heavy around the waist?

Dude, you should stop posting topics and rather post those snakes to me :-P

Simply gorgeous.

The "axanthic" Diamonds and the yellow Diamonds are both such different snakes and I cant choose which I like most!

Glad they're doing well.

Please keep this bloodline pure. I hate the bastard crosses that people think look so different. Diamonds are special and need to be kept and bred separately. At worst you could use the male on a female granite and see what that produces but the female must just make pure babies.

On the 12th of October 2016 I found this in my female's cage. Diamond Pythons are notoriously difficult to breed and if you do get eggs, they are even more difficult to hatch, so I placed the eggs in my incubator and hoped they did well.

There were 15 good eggs:

I lost 5 of the eggs during incubation and on the 10th of December the 10 remaining eggs started to hatch. 2 babies hatched but were very weak and died shortly after.

Baby just after hatching:

They all shed about 10 days after hatching:

So far 6 of the 8 have eaten:
The one baby is a lot lighter than the others, I though this one was a bit under developed and weak and might not make it but was the best feeder. This will be a keeper for sure.

Even Lewis Hamilton was impressed.

This is the first time that Diamond Pythons have been bred in South Africa. The black and white Diamonds like the parents and very sought after, even in the US so I am excited to see how these babies turn out.

Awesome, awesome, awesome.

Great to see such a rarely kept snake being bred. Pity about the lost babies, but that's pat of the game.

That light baby is definitely a keeper and should turn out stunning.

Can the black & white animals give birth of yellow animals or do they typically breed true?

Next on the list, Boelens ;)
