Thermostat Wiring - Please Help

Thermostat Wiring - Please Help

Postby Kobus » Sat Mar 25, 2017 5:01 pm

Good Day,
I have purchased a relatively cheap analog thermostat recently, but I am struggling with connecting it up.

I have tried several ways with no luck.

The Thermostat has 3 points L1, L2, and P. I have no idea what it represents, but I thought because the thermostat has to go on and off it must be wired as a switch and therefore I did the following: -

Live from plug to L2
Live to Heat Pad from L1
The second wire of the Heat Pad to Neutral.

The Heat Pad does not get warm.

Could somebody please help?

Hi, I cannot do much with that information. Do you have any diagrams or model number of the thermostat? A picture of the top and bottom of the board should also be helpful.

Thanx Bud,

I got it right.

Live from Power to the P terminal. (P is common)
Live from the L2 Terminal to the Heat Pad.
The L1 Terminal is left open.
The neutral from Power connected straight to Heat Pad.
