Tony, do you have tubes big enough for a snake with that girth? hehe

That snake is big! My dad once got a 5foot Puff. just outside Kimberley.

Funny how the longest that was measured in Southern Africa was 1.2 metres from snout to vent. Looks like the others have eluded scientists.

What tickles me is that the ones in the north of the country have small males and huge females whereas the ones from the Cape seem to have big males and smaller females.

How soon is the DNA gonna produce some results?

Oops, Polokwane, never mind. That thing should have become extinct with the dinos.

That's a monster of a puffy! Hope it didn’t sustain any spinal injuries…
I remember seeing a skin which Gerhard Prinsloo showed me of one killed by farmers in the Magaliesberg, which could have been the same size as this one from Polokwane, but it’s difficult to determine the length from the skin.

What tickles me is that the ones in the north of the country have small males and huge females whereas the ones from the Cape seem to have big males and smaller females.

BV, you’ve hit the nail on the head! That’s why more research should be done on their lifecycles…
