I know almost nothing about chinese water dragons but coming up for air is a good start. ;)

I also don't know much about dragons, but I found some interesting bits on the net

http://www.reptileforums.com/care_sheet ... dragon.htm

http://www.reptilekeeper.co.uk/waterdra ... esheet.php

http://www.triciaswaterdragon.com/enclosur.htm#Water

While none of the sheets really talk about dragons immersing themselves for long periods at a time, they do mention that humidity has to be quite high. Perhaps the humidity isn't high enough? Or maybe your dragons thinks he's a fish. :)

What is in his cage? Could you describe the cage and what's inside it.
