Nice shot Mongoose. Good fill flash.

Out of interest, where did you come about the name Black Sabbath? The big black Zaire Forest cobra at TSP (Now under Rubida's care) was named that. Nasty snake that he is :D . I, in turn, named my sooty falcon Black Sabbath, after the snake.

Haha - I read on these forums somewhere that another name for Forest corba's are "black sabbath" I must of misunderstood it though but oh well..

I didn't have a bag or anything to stick it in, so I walked about 2k's holding the snake by the tail, luckily he was cold.. The next morning when the sun was shining and I took him out for photo's he was eager to get me!

Black Sabbath

Quick question, what is the difference between mongoose free handling the forest cobra and bruno 69 the white lip or vine snake.

I realise that mongoose might be an experienced handler and i disagree with the way that bruno69 is carrying on, but i think that this is a bit of double standards., bruno69 has been torn to shreds but nothing is said here.

At the end of the day its sending out the same message to some kid who might come across the same thing.

Just a though, use, don't use it

do you notice he is tailing the snake...unlike the other person you mentioned. There is free handling and then controlled handling...very different! that is a tiny hatchling...the picture makes it look closer to his body than it really is.
what the hell is wrong with me?

I here what you're saying drummer68, just giving the opinion of how it looks to an inexperinced handler such as myself

Very ironic that this topic popped up as I just placed Black Sabbath back on exhibit today. That’s one very clever animal which you don’t want to get tagged by.

The camera can lie, there are some examples of monstrous rattlers somewhere on this? forum, or was it puff adder.
Goose is holding that cobra well away from his body.

Oh goose I think 'bout time for a haircut, or is this the new look?
