introduction myself

Postby heloderma » Thu Feb 16, 2012 2:19 pm

Heel fans of the reptileforum,

My name is Peter living near Amsterdam,The Netherlands (we have only 3 spieces of snakes in our country).
I have almost 38 year snakes, in the past many from SA, mamba's/cobrá/little spieces of Bitis and my
favorit Aspidelaps.
On this moment my collection is:(for many years)
Python Regius normal/albino/piebald (some I have more than 35 years)
Dumerilli Boa (20 years old)(breed many times)
Blackhead Python (breed many times)
Woma's (breed many times)
Boa Constrictor Albino/Snow
Aspidelaps Lubricus/Scutatus (collection is beginning in 1985) first breeding 1987 with A.Infuscatus
Heloderma Horridum/Suspectum

I see many times reptilepeople from SA on the reptileshow in Hamm,Germany ( the biggest of the wordl)
Maybe I will see you there sometimes!!
Planning a snakestrip to SA in the second half of this year, maybe you have some tips for my!!!

thanks for your time

Peter

Welcome here Peter.

You should come and see the places where these snakes originate. If you come out here in April or May then it is still a good time to find the last ones moving around before they go sleep for winter. If you come later in the year then October would be better because then the rains should have started and then the activity is much more.

Post some pictures of your snakes and lizards.

Very nice and welcome.

A mate of mine has beaded lizards very cool creatures.
You know, you can touch a stick of dynamite, but if you touch a venomous snake it’ll turn around and bite you and kill you so fast it’s not even funny.

Those are nice Heloderma. Do you still breed them or do you not bother any more?

Still every year to breed them ,not easy.
The eggs take between 4,5 and 5,5 months depanding of the size of the eggs and the temperture. (28 celcius)

Wow those eggs are huge? Is your adult eating a rabbit?
