Hi,

PM Demigod06, she'll help you, she has two adult curlies.

Cheers.

The past two or so months, "she" hasnt rebuilt her burrow, she has lost size, and every night is trying to climb the sides of her enclosure, which she never used to do in the past...

How big is the spider?
When did she molt last?
Has she been eating when you feed her?

Has someone some confirmed the sex of the spider?
Can you maybe post pictures of the spider?

Also, what is the humidity and temp in the enclosure?

It is approximately 12cm legspan.
It molted about two months ago.
It has been eating, but is quite slow in catching her food, as when before she would pounce on her prey like a lightning bolt.

When I bought her, there was a label on her enclosure that the breeder stuck on, saying its a female.

I dont have any pics to upload unfortunately.

And I'll have to double check the temp and humidity when I get home.

It might be a male and might be mature, that why it is not making its burrow. they start maturing at 12cm and up.
Look at the pedi pulpers, the two small legs in front of her face, where the fangs are.
If they look swollen, look like boxing gloves.
Then on the two front legs next to the pedi pulpers, there will be what looks like hooks, they will be in about the middle of the legs.
And if the spider is long and lanky then it is mature male.

No, just that the spider will die in the next 2 to 3 years time of old age.
Also wont eat much.

Another tell tale sign is the making of sperm webs, you will see these in the corners or anchored to something in the tank, the webbing is thick and white looks like a hammock.

Also when they do get larger it seems they don't make use of "borrows" as much. What feedeing shcedule do you keep it on? Over feeding can also result in it not taking food.

Hi all

Just an update...

My curly is still doing the same behaviour.

My feeding schedule for all my spiders is every 3 days or so...

I stuck a ZooMed hygro-thermometer in his/her tank earlier ( not sure how accurate this hygro-thermometer is) but the reading is 23/24 degrees Celsius and 97% humidity...

Curlys are desert spiders. Make 5 squirts near the burrow every week and keep the substrate from becoming bone dry.
The female tag on the cage might be from the previous spider in the cage. If you did not ask whether it is female you might have got it wrong.
If I'm gonna be an old, lonely man, I'm gonna need a thing, you know, a hook, like that guy on the subway who eats his own face. So I figure I'll be Crazy Man with a Snake, y'know. Crazy Snake Man. And I'll get more snakes, call them my babies, kids won't walk past my place, they will run. "Run away from Crazy Snake Man, " they'll shout!”

Still post a picture of the spider and your setup.

Let the cage dry out a bit, as that is very high Humidity.
That might be the reason why your spider is all over the place. Sometimes spider don't like wet substrate.

And then take your feeding schedule to a week (7 days) for your spiders.

Geesh, that humidity is way too high. That can stimulate growth of mold, even on your spider itself. Let it dry out, if you spray in they, do as it_bit_me said, or just put a small water bowl in there and make it overflow when you fill it up once a week. They really don't need a wet substrate though, thus keep a water bowl with water in or water gel.
