Re: Happy Lucky

Me too, I must admit it is quite a change from your 'normal' pet scene. One has to be much more attentive to them, but on the other hand once you start noticing their behaviour patterns and so on you quickly learn what they like and what they don't! Thank you for taking the time out to reply. The fo...

Re: Small snake in pretoria

I can not within myself come to the conclusion that someone could be so narrow minded. On the other hand I am amazed to what extent certain people will go to in order to get attention! Where does one find the time to dig up an old thread from 2009? Do you have nothing better to do with your time, wh...

Happy Lucky

Our Lucky finally looks happy! After two weeks of struggling with a very sad looking cham he now eats more regularly, drinks and I've caught him with a leaf or two in the mouth. I've now completed his lighting upgrade too and here he is looking very content with the world... http://www.sareptiles.co...

Re: Measurements for snake rack

You will then be working with 16mm, personally I don't like it. It does not wear nicely and being chip board it does not like to be moved around as any strain on your joins will cause it to want to tear out, but that's just personal preference. At least you now have a plan and elevation to work off ...

Re: Measurements for snake rack

What materials do you plan on using for the rack? Timber standard measurements will normally be about 22mm if you use planks, the pine shelving is normally a bit less at about 19mm while supawood is 16mm, you could also use ply which comes in thicknesses of 6, 8, 12, 16, 22mm. If it were me, Id use ...

Re: Lucky, some guidance please...

Thanks for the feedback predator, was starting to get kinda lonely in here hahaha I've since put the post together with some of his old furnishings into the enclosure, had him climbing the screen for a day but yesterday afternoon we had a heavy drop in temp so I placed a heater in his room, half an ...

Lucky, some guidance please...

So, as mentioned in my intro, last week we adopted a veiled chameleon, named Lucky, about two years old. He also came with a very nice enclosure, still needs some finishing but its got a nice size, 800X600X1900mm... His previous owners bought him for their 9 year old boy and they have had him for ab...

Yet another nubie

Hiya folks, just a quick one to introduce myself to you all... Names as per the handle, live in CT and all that. I've always been a fan of reptile keeping and wanted to start with something nice and simple, like a corn snake or such. However I got thrown into the deep end a week or so ago when we ad...
