Re: Amorous Kings

Those Eastern Kings look very different from the ones I owned in that their bands are very broad, my ones had thin lines. Is this just a variation in the species or do think you there might be some cross breeding of perhaps say a Cal king involved?

Re: SOS² Xmas Reptile Expo KZN 2012

Durban central, meaning you will not see the beach as it will be crowded, its not the safest place this time of the year and you almost a 100KM away from the expo. Thanx As we say in Durban, "nort bru". It never gets that crowded, and there are places cheaper than what you mentioned, back...

Re: Temperature controllers and Temp/Humidity sensors

We had a fire at our place last year September, and we only moving in next week! All animals survived but it did mess a bit with my plans in terms of breeding for this season.

Re: Temperature controllers and Temp/Humidity sensors

I would be very interested in one or two of these once i have my new room up and running, which unfortunately will only be in a month or 2 time. I first have to get our new place up and running before i start with my snakes though.

Re: Mfezi Breeding Project

Mehelya, i think you have mentioned a lot of good reason's why they should not be bred or kept in captivity. They are just not suited for captivity.
This is just my opinion. I like the indigenous idea though, maybe do another project with another species?

Re: how long hibernation by Lamprophis guttatus

I would drop the temps lower at night to about 10C, day temps are fine. Like Amphibian said night temps are lower in the Kloof area compared to the coastal areas
