Re: Feeding Question

I agree with Reynard, that is the exact words that Bushviper told me.

Feed the correct size as the size of the girth, for three weeks then skip the fourth week and repeat the process.

It's due to over working the mouth if I recall?

Re: noobie needs help heating

Heating pads for cages and heating wire for racks is generally what everyone does.

Have a look at the Corn snake section for some caging ideas, my old ones generally loved to climb and get into small spaces, make sure that you have enough hides for all the cages.

Also a great choice for a beginner.

Re: Interesting but realistic ?

I have wanted to do this for a long time now, but my only question is mites?

With the natural substrate straight from the while wont there also be mites in it when collected?

Re: confused about permits.

I agree with It_Bit_Me, there are a few people on the forum from the Eastern cape that can explain everything you need to know.

Re: confused about permits.

You need permits for all Snakes in every Cape province, exotic and indigenous. The person you bought the Python from in the Northern cape must have lied to you if he/she said that you do not need a permit for Exotics in the province. Each province has their permit system, Capes require permits for b...

Re: What's up with all these kombuis adverts?

It's just spambots, admin checks them daily and delete the members posting them. Lately they have been more common.

Re: Lights keep breaking?

Just another little update... I got myself another screw in light fitting, I wired it up and put the two lights in to test, both didn't work. So I connected it to the original red clip in light and that worked perfectly, so I guess the wiring is ok and so is the plug, and I doubt both fittings will ...

Re: Lights keep breaking?

Eish I never thought of that.

Looks like tomorrow I have to go back to the shops for the 100th time to get a basking light for the cage, but this time not a reptile one.

So far I have spent about R300 just on normal lights, wire and 3 light fittings, plus the reptile light was about R200.
