Re: Kicking Myself Merrily (Rinkhals)

That’s a nice looking snake, but being so young I would expect the colour to change a bit with age.

Re: Human Cruelty - How SA pet shops kill reptiles

Urucone, while the topics heading may be unfair, the content reflects the author’s experience. As a pet shop you should be required to make sure the animals you sell are in good condition, would you buy a vehicle from me if I said, we get in lots of cars and I can’t be responsible for the quality? D...

Re: Human Cruelty - How SA pet shops kill reptiles

Wow that is shocking. Sadly it seems this is pretty common place with many pet stores. I would really enjoy seeing a response from the store on this one! Thank you for doing what you could for the beardie, I’m sure it was appreciated.

Re: Snappy Dumeril Baby

Dumerils boas are usually quite calm. I’m sure yours will outgrow in nervousness with time. I don’t think I have ever seen an aggressive adult.

Re: Snake relocating

Do you know the exact locality of the snake and can you guarantee it doesn’t pick up anything in terms of disease or parasites while in your care? You are also committing an offence by keeping it; these are unfortunately the laws for most of the country. The snake should never have been removed in t...

Re: Ball python - Red belly

Hi AneryCobra. That definitely looks like the start of scale rot. Rather use a drier substrate, too much moisture often causes this. I would switch the substrate and use something nice and dry. You may need an antibacterial treatment, your vet can help you with that.

Re: New proposed Tops list en regulations out for Comments

I have had a good look through the proposed regulations and have a few comments and questions. If this is intended to be some sort of public participation process, I would expect some answers from the author of this topic or the Department. Firstly I’m glad you are recognising habitat destruction as...
