How sad...

How sad...

Postby Whitelipp » Fri May 20, 2011 11:01 am

A mate of mine works at a Game Tan company. They tan skin for trophy hunters. Any way he calls me and tells me a guy brought in a Python skin measuring 4.25m. When he asked why he killed it the guy said he killed his poodles.

I wish I can get the authorities on the guy that killed this snake. Just to have him spend some time in the Nelspruit Jail!! :smt013

A friend of mine was nearly arrested after he took a baby crocodile to a taxidermist. The croc was accidentally killed and he wanted to keep it as a "souvenir". Well to make a long story short, the croc was confiscated and he received a suspended sentence after about 6 court cases.

Still illegal to kill even if its eating your dogs. TOPS regulations do not allow you to keep the skin either. I would suggest you enlighten the taxidermist. He may not even have it on his property without a TOPS permit.
It is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

Those who are afraid to ask are ashamed of learning.

Looks to me like Poodles are getting the bad end... I got a 3m+ python from a mate of mine that cought it in a lady's house. He told me it ate the lady's Poodle. Then in this week there was an article in the Lowvelder, our local newspaper, that a 4m python ate a nother Poodle but I think Chris Hobkirk( a local snake hero  ) removed it. I tried to find the article to make sure of the facts but wasn't to successful. Chris also has a post on the forum of a python that ate a jack russell.
I wonder how many there are that we don't know of that are being killed!! SHAME
