Rubber Boa

Rubber Boa

Postby meester50 » Wed Feb 28, 2007 11:35 am

HI Guys,

Just for interest snakes (sakes). Does anybody here in SA keep these, or know of someone that does?

What price are they going for?
Are they hard to keep?
Would it be easy to import, if so, any contact info for breeders?
Any other info might be helpful.

Thx,
The Will of GOD will never take you, where the Grace of GOD will not protect you

I have only ever seen one pair of rubber boas in SA. They are not kept in large numbers in other countries either.

They are rather dull looking and spend their lives hiding away.

They are easy to keep and need to be hibernated if you want to breed them. I have never had them even try to bite although some people say they can be aggressive. They take fuzzy mice readily.

Importing may be difficult but try some of the guys in the Cape that import regularly. Possibly they can toss in a few in the shipment. They are not expensive to acquire.
It is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

Those who are afraid to ask are ashamed of learning.
