Recently I participated in a South African Butterfly Conservation Assessment http://sabca.adu.org.za/ survey of Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game Reserve. We saw 123 species of butterfly & a bunch of other cool stuff. We saw very few reptiles but we did come across this specimen which I think is a Giant Legless Skink Acontias plumbeus. It was found on a gravel road about 8.30am on the forested Hluhluwe area of the park. The community ranger Joseph who was accompanying the group said that he'd seen another specimen earlier that morning also. Can anyone confirm the ID?
