Awesome herps Mr. Ping!

My favourites are the P. janii and the D. medici.

I am not sure if the lack of reptiles the drought or the El Nino, because we have had decent rains, but herps are VERY few and far between.

Most guys I am in contact with have had very poor herping trips.

Second Westley on the D. medici, but really dig the Common Purple Gloss and the Decoster's Garter. Amazing pics as always Mr T!

Very nice man.
I know with the forum being relatively quiet and not many views or replies it is does not always seem like the effort of posting is worth it but it is appreciated.

We had a very bad trip to Ellisras at the end of last year with very little found. The trips at the same time in previous years (some to the same area) were always very good, so the drought definitely does have a huge effect on the herps. We sat outside next to the river at night, next to big spotlights and there were no insects or anything flying around the lights like you usually see out in the bush.

Great pics

Thanks Eugene, heading back out this weekend hoping for some rain so we can expect some more decent finds.

I know what you mean in terms of the insects some nights i go out and see none, following that no frogs and no often no snakes follow.

The drought definitely has an impact, but I don't know if it is the only factor. November to December was spectacular for me, but since January there has been a sharp decline in reptile activity, with slight increases after a bit of rain.

Great shots Tyrone, and very nice find on the medici.

So predator, if November/December was spectacular for you, why are we not enjoying the pics??? ;)

Us guys having a hard time need something to dampen the withdrawal symptoms, haha.

Haha, uploading to the forum is too time consuming but I'll see what I can do, maybe some of the highlights :)
