Snake ID

Postby Dexter » Fri Jul 15, 2016 11:19 am

Hi found this snake in the uniondale area and was wondering what type of snake it is, my thoughts was that it was a berg adder but not sure. Any help would be great thanks.

Hmmm, Ragner, I am going to have to disagree with you. Look like atropos, just a very light one.

A Bitis armata in Uniondale would certainly be big news.
It's a Berg adder (Bitis atropos).
