Looks like you are on a roll with this species.
I would love to see these with my own eyes in the wild one day.
Thank you.

Are you sure this one isn't completely frozen? Despite being quite common I have NEVER been able to catch an adult, nor have I been able to get within reach of the 100mm, so really well done! Someday you will share your secrets...

BS - the effort we put in to catching the C.breyeri is nothing compared to some of the effort I've put in trying to catch other things.. I have learnt a new trick with noosing - that literally only takes 10mins to catch.. To catch this guy and the baby(both were in same rock wedge) took me and my dad about 20mins..

Nvlooi - yes the babies are beautiful
Here is a head shot - some reason the quality seems fuzzy

These lizards were shipped out of Mozambique for about $8 each and are not that sought after. The mozambique ones seem to get a bit bigger than ours and are almost a dark blue colour. They can be lured out with grapes. It seems as if they cannot resist the smell of grapes.

Interesting - I'll get some grapes and see if I can lure them out.

Donald Strydom has both major and validus in a pit, and they don't seem to be able to resist guava - they eat it out your hands, but the moment you try catch them they duck. These are fairly used to humans though.
