Is it possible to legal own Uroplatus phantasticus ?

Just came across Uroplatus phantasticus, which has an unfortunate common name. I call them GOT (Game of Throne) Geckos for a reason you can find at this link: http://goo.gl/gcTsOl

They are amazing stunning animals.

Are these legal to own in South Africa?

There is no reason why you cannot own these lizards.
It is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

Those who are afraid to ask are ashamed of learning.

Very attractive geckos. Would've been spectacular if they really had the wings.. If only. Interesting common name, I'll refer to it as the fantastic leaf-tail gecko, unless they change the binomial name to Uroplatus luciferi or something.
The way to success has no shortcuts.
