About 80% of booms I've rescued have been mellow; that big boy was one of the 20%.
As soon as I grabbed him, he inflated and started trying to nail me sideways. A large boom on a hook who is trying to nail you must be second only in "fun" things to do after a polylepis trying to do the same!!
I never understand why people want me to remove a boom from their garden, especially if it's large and well-treed.
I've also never had a WC boom eat in captivity, nor had one which didn't start to rub its nose after a few days.
They don't adapt well to captivity, understandably
