The changes to the National Alien Invasive list have been proposed and comments can be submitted for a 30 day period from the 29th of May 2015.

The best news is that Corn snakes, Jackson's chameleons and Meller's chameleons can now be kept with no restrictions excluding any provincial regulations which are still effective in certain provinces.
Basically all that matters is that Boa constrictors and Green iguanas have been removed for Gauteng, Burmese pythons have had the new scientific name added and require permits country wide and North African pythons are prohibited.
Red eared sliders which had to be euthanased may now be kept without a permit however trade and transporting them is illegal.
