Hello from Southwestern Missouri, USA

Postby ObscureSnake » Wed Jun 17, 2015 3:54 am

Hello,

My name is Thomas, and I live in the southwestern corner of Missouri in the USA. I've been keeping reptiles for several years. My current collection includes a 0.1.0 Ball Python, 0.0.1 Children's Python, 2.2.0 Crested Geckos, 1.0.0 Western Banded Gecko, and 0.0.2 Chacoan Horned Frogs. I joined the site here to learn more about the reptiles of southern Africa, especially the captive care of some of the more obscure indigenous snake species (hence the username).

Cheers,

Thomas

Welcome to the forum Thomas! I am sure that you will learn a lot here. :)
The kiss originated when the first male reptile licked the first female reptile, implying in a subtle, complimentary way that she was as succulent as the small reptile he had for dinner the night before.

I've been trying to, but I keep getting an internal server error message. I'm trying to figure out what the problem is.

Thanks for the welcomes, everyone!

Thanks, and you're welcome! My Extreme Harlequin Dalmatian laid eggs not too long ago; can't wait for those to hatch!

Thanks! He's my favorite snake right now. I'm hoping to get some southern African species soon.

Awesome pics of some nice critters.

I agree that the Granite Children's Python is a stunner. We are yet to get this morph in RSA but for some reason the Antaresia pythons are not particularly popular here.

Thanks! That is odd; my specimen is very docile, and makes a great captive. While I certainly support keeping species indigenous to an individual's area (both there in RSA and here in the USA), I hope that Antaresia gain popularity there.

Here's a specimen of mine that is more in line with the focus of this forum, though I realize Ball Pythons (Python regius) are not Southern African. My big female is just over 1.2 meters long. She's nothing special as far as morphs go, but I love the classic Ball Python coloration.
