Bushbaby help needed URGENT

Postby Wolf777 » Tue Mar 05, 2013 9:32 am

Hi guys I am back from the bush for a few days(will post an update later).

Just found an injured bushbaby at my mom's school, it was just laying there on the wet pavement, breathing is fine, still opens it's eyes, tries to get away when I pick it up albeit with not a lot of enthusiasm. It also seems to have bleeding from the mouth but not much (worried about internal injuries). I am keeping him in a box, covered in a towel for now, it hasn't moved much but is still definitely alive. I would appreciate any information or tips that will increase my chances of saving the little thing. I know this is not a lot to go on, but any help would be appreciated.

Bleeding from the mouth at a school probaly means it ate rat poisen and there won't be much you can do if its already bleeding internally.
Keeping it warm is the best you could do but a vet would be far better but they would more than likely put it down.
I hope i'm wrong, wish you the best that it recovers.

It could also have been knocked by a car. Keep it dark and quiet and place some soft fruits like pawpaw or grapes in there along with water. It should either recover or die by tonite. Wild animals are different to domestic animals in that way.

It died yesterday due to severe internal bleeding; poor little guy was throwing up blood and was gone within an hour of my last message.
