Postby lilly » Sat Mar 29, 2014 8:54 am

Hi
I own a pair of lesser hedgehogs sold to me as a pet. I was told that they are a breeding pair and that she was already pregnant when I bought her She didn't have hoglets and when i tried to reintroduce them the "male" bit the female. Anyone with experience? Please contact me

The males have puffy looking eyes and fatter, more squared off faces. The females have longer thinner facers, with a more pointy nose and eyes are not puffy. Males normally give off a white milky substance from their eyes when placed near a female. If the other tenrec is a boy, there will be no milky eyes and they might attack each other. I know this post is rather late for the original poster, but hopefully the info could help someone else too.
