Depends if it is P. madagascariensis or P. guimbeaui.

Day gecko is a entire genus so depends on species.

Males are very sought after but females not as much. I am not sure what people ask for them any more.

I know of a number of breeders and they do come onto the market quite regularly. If you advertise here regularly they will be offered to you as well.

Thanx Bushviper but had some bad luck, had them for two years problem free tried last week to check the sex of them and luck would have it the one got out , eventually got it nice gently firm grip behind the head and placed it back into its enclosure, but noticed the tail wagging after an hour so thought it was just stressed from the ordeal since I never handle them but now it developed a sort of paralysis on the hind legs so I think it might be bone disease ? hoping its more in the line of being hurt but time will tell as sometimes it looks like its moving its hind legs but other times its not... even when climbing
anyways to add to my despair my wife went to check up on it without me being present and the remaining healthy adult got his tail chopped off as she closed the lid when it tried to escape ....
So extremely frustrated at the moment

Sorry to hear that. The lost tail won't matter when it comes to breeding though. And I'm pretty sure Phelsuma regenerate their tails.

Crested geckos are the way. They display well and make pretty comical pets too.
