Christmas Vipers

Postby shneaky » Fri Jan 09, 2015 9:21 am

Good day all! Its been a while, but I have waited 3 years for this.

One of my female Christmas Vipers finally gave me what I was hoping for - some beautiful little babies. I first put them together in May of 2014, and never actually saw them mate, but in the early hours of the 4th of January 2015, she began the process of delivering 11 gorgeous little Christmas Vipers.

I am so happy :)

Very cool and congrats on all the new babies.

I would be hesitant to call these vipers "mildly venomous." Although I haven't heard of any deaths, I know many resources indicate that the venom holds potential to kill, so I would rather call these highly venomous and treat them as such.

Thank you!

I agree. There is not much written up about their venom, and most seem to classify them as "Mildly venomous but should be treated as potentially lethal".

I treat them with utter respect regardless and the babies will only be for sale to those that can handle and care for them properly.

Very nice. They are lovely snakes and somehow I dont think there are that many around that these will go to people who are not well known in the hobby.

How easy are they to get onto mice? I dont remember hearing about people struggling with them.
