That's a male Angulate tortoise.

Herphabitat, how to you tell the difference between the male and female?

Besides a deep concavity in the plastron, males have an elongate gular which they use for fighting that is clearly visible in this specimen.

That animal is an escaped "exotic" meaning it cannot be returned to the wild as they dont occur in this province. Take it to the JHB zoo and they can include it in their display.
