Hi Guys.I live near Harties in the bush.Last week a total of 7 newly hatched Mocambique spitting cobras were found in our garden! this is a month later than they are normally seen. Also this probably meant that the eggs were incubating nearby I guess?
An adult has since been seen daily near the garage among some big rocks-cant catch it as yet.
I think the cold rainy weather during feb/march may have slowed the embryos development so we are seeing the immatures much later.
I relocate all venomous snakes away from the house if they can be caught.
Puffadder breeding season has not yet started in our area-usually plenty are seen in may/june.
Regards to all.
