Are you going to Maputo itself? Or north or south of it?

I have spent a lot of time south of Maputo and have records of;

File snake
Vine snake
Boomslang
Python
Olive sand snake
Brown house snake
Puff Adders
Snouted Cobras
Spitting Cobras

And there are many more interesting ones to find-

Garter snakes
Purple-glossed snakes
Semi-ornate snake
Shovel snouted snakes
wolf snakes

Why don't you go looking for other reptiles too? You might be fortunate enough to find some Worm-lizards. There are a lot of interesting reptiles there. The biggest Striped Skink I've seen came from Porto Henrique.

Please take a camera and bring us photos of what you find, just be careful ;)

Better not to come back as a legless skink...
