hello.
I was just wondering if you could use a polystyrene and a heat mat and a bowl of water just put the heat mat under the polystyrene and the water on top of the heat mat and a box in there with eggs and that is your incubator.?

In short YES.
Without a device to regulate temperature it is a bad idea.

It could work but you'll need to be able to monitor and keep the temps level, also make sure you don't burn the polystyrene but at an average of between 27.5C to 29C it would be fine. Hope this helps but I would also advise you to get more opinions as I have never tried this before.

Here's the long and short of an incubator.
The polystyrene box is R50 and the heater is R100.
