That's a young Red Lipped Herald Snake they feed mainly on frogs and toads.
Where in Durban did you find it?

It's often best to release it when they are really small finding small prey items is difficult.

Hey man, heralds are pretty cool. Used to dig them so much when I first started keeping. They are dead easy to keep as long as your prepared to put in the effort and find frogs. I used to love watching my one monster sized herald smash HUGE toads. Good times. If finding food is too much of a mission, release it back into your garden and I'll give you a captive bred house snake feeding on pinky mice. Cheers, Dean.

No it will need tiny frogs, hence why i suggested its not a great idea to keep such a small snake.
TO be honest you're better off releasing it and trying to find a larger herald that can take reed frogs.

I have kept and bred Heralds and can only support what Fooble is saying.
It is virtually impossible to find small enough frogs to feed the babies.
Get hold of a larger Herald, in the 50cm or so range, they tame down fairly quickly and easily, and are virtual dustbins needing a fair sized frog every week or so.

Not only frogs, i find that approapriately sized toads work very well, the poison that the toads secrete doesnt seem to phase them either... :D

Roxboy, where exactly in DBN are you situated?

What size frogs can you get hold of?

Ok so i have managed to catch a couple small geckos around...just wanted to know...how should i feed them to my snake?? Do i just put them into the cage with the snake?? or should i feed them in peices?? they are small and am pretty sure the snake wont have any trouble in that regard...and also how often should it be fed...

They will eat gecko's how ever it's not GREAT for them.
Whole and live, if it does not feed rather release it.
Feed it twice a week or there abouts.
