Caught this little guy in the bedroom this evening, knowing what it is will help decide where I should let it go tomorrow so I hope the pics are clear enough.

We stay in the Roodeplaat dam area, Pta.

Im no expert but that looks like a stilleto snake. Be careful of the bite on these guys!
If you cant beat them, join them. If you cant join them, shoot them.

That could very well be a Stiletto snake. Do not touch that little guy by any means

Looks like a stiletto, my dad was bitten by one, believe me it's not fun at all!

Wow, thats a wake-up call. Thanks for the feedback, I'm no expert on snakes but have never heard of it. Caught it using a small towel to pin it down but don't think I was careful enough, knowing what I do now. There were a few opportunities for to get to me if it tried. Had to move fast though else it was gone behind the closet.

This one is approx. 25cm.

Cute little guy!

These guys have a toxin that causes liquificaton of body tissue.

Please release him where there are hardly any people and where it is wet.

Good luck and be careful of that sharp end

That's a Stiletto snake-A.bibroni. Its cute but deadly!!!! Nice find,but when releasing DON'T touch it. Once again nice find.

Do not know about the deadly part, but yes the bite is painful, i was tagged twice when i was a you boy when i thought they where wolf snakes :lol:
