Identification please

Postby Yougini » Fri Sep 19, 2014 11:19 am

I need help identifying this snake. I came home yesterday and saw the snake protruding from a hole in the wall. Half its body was in the hole and the rest was coiled around the blue head lizzard. The snake then started swallowing the blue head. Afterwards slithered out of the hole and down the wall. I then went inside the house to close the windows. I live in KZN Durban. All the help would be much apprecited.

It looks like a brown house snake to me. They are harmless and nice to have a around for rodent control.
Every good story seems to begin with a snake.

Seems like you have a Brown House Snake feeding on a Tree Agama.

Very cool observation and thanx for sharing.

I don't think it would have made it back into that hole after that meal.
